Welcome to the Fusion Component Failure Rate Database (FCFR-DB)!

In this application, data useful to perform probabilistic analyses on fusion devices are recorded.

Different sources of data are present:

 - Existing laboratories and research plants operated in the nuclear fusion field;

 - Other technological experiences, like nuclear fission power plants, chemical plants, aeronautic, military and industrial systems.

The latter are useful to evaluate those systems of fusion devices more conventional and independent from the specific application and/or those systems not yet sufficiently tested in fusion devices because of their innovative aspects. Furthermore, as largest the knowledge of different component behaviours is, as largest the confidence in predicting availability and reliability of the systems, as well as in performing safety studies, will be.

Components are identified in the database according to a hierarchical taxonomy (component class).Several lists are available for data browsing in different ways.

The 'Fusion Component Failure Rate Database' (FCFR-DB) supported by the European Communities under the contract of Association between EURATOM/ENEA was carried out in this version within the framework of a F4E contract and ITER Task Agreement. The overall activity of data collection and analysis is also set in the frame of the International Energy Agreement (IEA), Task 5.

The access to the database is restricted to Users operating in the fusion field, typically to Organisations working for ITER and IEA Members. Contact us to require key words for the access if you meet such requirements.
